AT&T launched U-verse TV and Internet in parts of Miami-Dade and Broward counties in South Florida, and will be introduced in Palm Beach County on July 28.

Video-equipment maker Thomson has become a full member of the Open IPTV Forum.

Verizon widened its FiOS push in New Jersey, announcing availability of TV and broadband services in parts of eight communities in the Garden State: Englewood Cliffs, Collingswood, Oaklyn, Fieldsboro, Harrison Township, Guttenberg, Keansburg and Jackson Township.

Verizon received a 15-year cable franchise from the city of Hampton, Va., on July 16 authorizing the telco to offer FiOS TV to approximately 55,000 households.

Verizon also was granted a cable franchise from the town of Sutton, Mass.

Switzerland's Netstream has chosen Entone's IPTV set-tops to offer advanced video services.

ANT Software announced that Unihan, a wholly owned subsidiary of AsusTek, has licensed ANT Galio Browser for its new IPTV set-top boxes.

Sunrise Telecom announced the addition of VDSL2 test capabilities to its Home Test Toolkit (HTT).

Guangxi Telecom, a subsidiary of China Telecom, has chosen UTStarcom’s RollingStream IPTV platform to deploy a new interactive advertising system.
