    • AT&T Files For Statewide Video Franchise In Tennessee
      AT&T as expected filed an application Tuesday in Tennessee for a statewide certificate of franchise authority to offer video services under a recently passed franchise-reform law.     • Verizon To Offer MSNBC In NY For Olympics
      Verizon Communications is prevented from carrying MSNBC in markets where Cablevision Systems is the incumbent provider, but before that restriction is lifted the telco plans to offer the network during the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games to FiOS TV customers in the New York area. more » » » 
    • U-verse Comes To Tulsa
      AT&T has launched U-verse TV, Internet and voice services in the Tulsa, Okla., area, where the telco will take on incumbent cable provider Cox Communications. more » » »

          • UTStarcom sold its Personal Communications Division to an entity controlled by AIG Investments for $240 million. With the divestiture, UTStarcom will focus on its core IPTV and data networking offerings; Peter Blackmore was named the company's CEO.

          • Verizon was granted video franchises by the Long Island, N.Y., towns of Rockville Centre and Northport.

          • In Massachusetts, Verizon received a cable franchise from the town of Stoughton and the telco began marketing FiOS TV in Plymouth.
