'WrestleMania XXVIII' Garners 1.3 Million PPV Buys Worldwide

The WWE's April 1 WrestleMania XXVIII drew 1.3 million pay-per-view buys internationally, according to preliminary figures from the pro wrestling/entertainment company.

The WWE would not reveal actual U.S. PPV buys for the event, which featured a main event match between Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and John Cena. Sources close to the company however, said that U.S. PPV purchases typically represent about two-thirds of the overall PPV buys.

WrestleMania XXVIII
, which was held at Sun Life Stadium in Miami, also drew more than $67 million in global PPV revenue from more than 105 countries offering the PPV event, according to the WWE.
