DirecTV Inc. said Wednesday that it added the HDTV feed from News Corp. sibling Fox Television Station Group, offering the HD programming to subscribers in 26 markets where Fox owns and operates TV stations.

Customers that live in a Fox O&O market in the Pacific and Mountain Time Zones will get the Fox HD feed from KTTV-TV in Los Angeles, while subscribers in the Central and Eastern time zones will receive the HD feed from Fox flagship station WNYW-TV in New York.

DirecTV said it is offering the HD feed free of charge to customers that receive its local channels package.

Fox plans to shoot the National Football League playoff games and the Feb. 6 Super Bowl in HD.
