AMC, Chrysler Link on 'Dedications'

1/27/2003 4:32 AM Eastern

AMC (formerly American Movie Classics) announced Monday that it and
DaimlerChrysler's Chrysler Group have just begun promoting the "AMC Movie
Dedications" promotion.

The on-air solicitation promos actually began Saturday, urging viewers to
dedicate one of AMC's upcoming movies to someone special via a special 800
telephone number.

The dedications will appear during AMC's movies airing Feb. 9 through
Valentine's Day (Feb. 14). The film titles slated during that period will
include Great Expectations (Feb. 9), Man Trouble (Feb. 11),
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (Feb. 12) and Roman Holiday
(Feb. 14).

AMC will also promote the dedications via its Web site
(www.amctv.com/ ), ads
in Entertainment Weekly and US Weekly and radio spots in five
major markets.

Those who call in will also automatically be entered into a tie-in
sweepstakes, the grand prize of which will be a state-of-the-art outdoor hot tub
with a built-in home-entertainment system, AMC said.

AMC senior vice president of marketing Isabel Miller said in a prepared
statement that the promotion "will reinforce AMC's 'TV for movie people'
positioning."

Left unsaid is that the promotion also meshes nicely with Chrysler's new
"Drive & Love" ad-campaign theme, built around singer/ad spokesperson Celine
Dion.
