Atlanta -- Turner Network Sales has appointed Jennifer
Reichenbach as vice president of national accounts, marketing -- a new position created to
help bolster affiliate relationships.
Reichenbach said she will act as a liaison between MSOs and
Turner Broadcasting Systems Inc.'s nine domestic cable networks to develop
"Affiliate needs vary greatly," Reichenbach said,
depending on whether a system is deploying digital services, entering refranchising
negotiations or even selling off its properties. "We have to keep a finger on the
pulse of each MSO."
Since the primary objective of many MSOs today is driving
new services, such as digital video and high-speed cable modems, TNS will help to tailor
local events so that operators have an opportunity to draw crowds and showcase their new
For example, Cartoon Network plans a mobile marketing tour,
complete with consumer sweepstakes and promotions that affiliates can also use to help
drive digital sales.
The TNS marketing department is in the midst of hammering
out a new budget.
"One of our key goals it how to target money more
effectively," Reichenbach said.
Reichenbach comes to TNS from Discovery Networks U.S.,
which she joined in 1993.
