AT&T Launches EarthLink in N.E.

AT&T Broadband systems in Massachusetts (including Boston), New Hampshire
and Maine have launched EarthLink Inc. as a competitive broadband
Internet-service provider.

EarthLink is priced at $41.95 per month for speeds up to 1.5 megabits per
second downstream and 256 kilobits per second upstream.

Separately, Best Buy Co. Inc. said its in-store 'Activation Stations' for
high-speed Internet access have expanded their service offerings through a
'GetConnected' interface.

The company said 528 Best Buy stores will now feature 15 high-speed
providers, including AT&T Broadband, Charter Communications Inc., Comcast
Corp., Cox Communications Inc. and Mediacom Communications Corp., as well as
EarthLink, BellSouth Corp., SBC Communications Inc., Sprint Corp., Verizon
Communications and DirecTV Inc.'s direct-broadcast satellite
service.
