Rainbow's Fuse Lights Fox's Fuel

Teens and young adults will soon have some Fuel to light their Fuse for music
and action sports, as Fox Cable Networks Group and Rainbow Media Group revealed
plans for separate networks targeting the 12- through 34-year-old demo.

Fox Cable is targeting July 1 for the launch of its new action-sports
network, Fuel.

Targeting males 12 through 24, the network will feature skateboarding,
surfing, BMX, motocross, snowboarding and wakeboarding. It will also feature
music from independent labels.

Alternative music will also be the focus of Fuse, the new name for Rainbow's
MuchMusic USA music-video service, effective May 19.

The moniker will reflect the network's multiplatform approach of television,
online and interactive game play, president Marc Juris said.

Rainbow chose not to continue licensing the MuchMusic brand from Canada's
Chum Ltd., its former partner in the channel.

MuchMusic vice president David Kines said Chum will look to license the
MuchMusic brand in the United States, but it has no imminent plans to compete
with Fuse.

Rainbow is also building a $12 million midtown Manhattan studio for Fuse and
launching a music-video-on-demand service called
Fuse-On-Demand.
