3/14/2002 3:01 AM Eastern

Comcast Cable Communications Inc. said Thursday that it would bring
high-definition television to all of its major markets by the end of this
year.

The MSO already began deploying HDTV in some of its Philadelphia systems last
year. It plans to add Virginia systems near Washington, D.C., this summer.

Later this year, the MSO plans to deploy HDTV in Maryland, Detroit and
Indianapolis. Next year, Comcast will fill in the metropolitan Washington
market, bringing HDTV to the nation's capital.

Starting next year, Comcast SportsNet will offer HDTV programming in the
Philadelphia and Washington markets.
