In Demand L.L.C. said it is delivering content to some 2.5 million
video-on-demand subscribers -- a total it expects to double by year's end.
The pay-per-view purveyor said the VOD subscribers extend from its base of 16
million basic subscribers.

significant source of revenue for the cable industry and the movie studios.'
In Demand has VOD-licensing pacts with Artisan Entertainment, DreamWorks SKG,
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc., Sony Pictures Entertainment, 20th Century Fox,
Universal Studios and New Line Cinema.
The company -- which also has contracts giving it access to programming from
BBC America, Comedy Central, Courtroom Television Network, ESPN, Hallmark
Entertainment, Sesame Workshop and Turner Entertainment -- has a VOD-content
pact for select fare from Warner Bros., as well.
