A&E Network will get supernatural through a made-for movie series known
as Ghost Tales, channel officials announced Friday morning.

The channel will adapt as many as five classic horror stories or novels for
Ghost Tales, directed by noted independent filmmakers to be assigned
later.

Robyn Rosenfeld -- who organized Home Box Office's set of Creature
Feature
monster-movie remakes in 2001-02 -- will oversee GhostTales through her Three Muse Productions company.

A premiere date for the first film will be set after the screenplays and
filmmakers are chosen.

"This series of thrillers will chill the blood and rattle the bones," A&E
vice president of drama/film/performing-arts programming Delia Fine promised in
a prepared statement. She'll also be an executive producer on the project.

A&E has experimented with original science-fiction and horror films in
the past year, including The Lost World and The Lathe of Heaven.
Both received good reviews and fair ratings.
