Mystery, Romero Get Gory

10/09/2002 5:25 AM Eastern

George Romero, the 'Guru of Gore,' will host a Halloween marathon of fright
films on Starz Encore Group LLC's Mystery Channel multiplex.

Mystery's '36-Hour Scare-a-Thon' will be unearthed at 6 p.m. on 'Mischief
Night,' Oct. 30, and run throughout Oct. 31.
Romero, director of Night of
the Living Dead
and its two sequels, will exhume the marathon movies from
the site of the original Dead filming location -- a cemetery in
Pittsburgh.

In addition to his Dead films, Romero will introduce such genre
notables as A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the
13th
, Jack the Ripper and Rosemary's Baby, as well
as a host of horror spoof films and documentaries from Encore's The
Directors
tracking the mayhem movies of Romero, Wes Craven and Clive
Barker.
