Lifetime Leads Way During Primetime

Lifetime Television topped TBS Superstation to lead basic cable in primetime
during the fourth week of June.

The women's-oriented network averaged a 1.8 rating from June 18 through 24,
according to a Turner Entertainment Research analysis of Nielsen Media Research
data, besting TBS, which garnered a 1.7.

USA Network and Cartoon Network were tied for third with a 1.6 average, ahead
of Turner Network Television and Nickelodeon, both at a 1.5

Rounding out the top 10: A&E Network with a 1.4; Discovery Channel at a
1.2; and Animal Planet, Black Entertainment Television and SoapNet, each with a
1.0.

After being knotted last week for the first time since 1995 by Cartoon,
Nickelodeon again donned the total-day diadem with a 1.4, according to the
Turner analysis. Lifetime and Cartoon were nipping at the kidvid champ's heels,
though, each with a 1.3. TBS was fourth with a 1.0, while there was a logjam for
fifth among A&E, TNT and USA, all with 0.8 averages.
