Waze’s Broadcaster Model Gets More Global

Deal with Nobex gives Waze access to about 5,000 stations around the world 11/03/2017 5:24 PM Eastern

Waze, the crowd-sourced navigation app, is expanding its global presence after notching a deal with Nobex Partners, a company that works with more than 5,000 stations across about 100 counties.

The deal also expands the roster for Waze for Broadcasters, which works with both radio and TV partners.

The agreement will put Waze’s real-time traffic data and road condition information in the hands of radio stations around the world, enabling them to relay ETAs for various driving routes to listeners.

Those Nobex Partners radio stations are getting access to two tools – Waze Traffic View (a dashboard that provides real-time reports on changing conditions and uses algorithms that can provide alternative routes and drive-times), and LiveMap, a Waze-branded map for Nobex Partner station web sites.

Waze and Nobex share a common goal of global coverage, Paulo Cabral, business development manager at Waze, explained.

Waze for TV, another product from the company’s broadcaster set, enables stations to transmit images/maps that show road conditions that are rendered with Waze’s data.
