The launch expands Sling TV’s universe of supported devices, a category that also includes LG connected TVs, Android TV devices (including the Dish-made AirTV Player), Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, Xbox One, web browsers, and iOS and Android mobile devices, among others.

Support for Samsung TVs also enters play as Sling TV faces stiffening competition from other virtual MVPDs that include YouTube TV, Hulu, PlayStation Vue, fuboTV, and CenturyLink Stream.

“Integrating Sling TV into our line of Smart TVs helps simplify live TV for our customers,”  Salek Brodsky, vice president of content and services for Samsung Electronics, said in a statement. “As viewers continue to embrace streaming live TV via apps, Sling TV is an obvious win for those who want to truly personalize their entertainment experience for the best value.”
