NYTVF Adds Development Partners

The New York Television Festival (NYTVF) has added eight unscripted development partners to its 10th annual festival, which is scheduled to take place October 2014.

Partners returning from last year’s festival include Channel 4 (Entertainment division), National Geographic Channels, SundanceTV and truTV, while new development partners include Investigation Discovery, FremantleMedia North America, FYI and WE tv. These partners will join those that were previously announced, including A&E, Comedy Central, HISTORY, and LIonsgate/Sea to Sky.

Each partner will offer a development award to an independent artist taking part in the 2014 festival competition. The competition is open to independently-produced, original television pilots 4-22 minutes in length across all genres and from creators throughout the world.

“We’ve long endeavored to open doors across the television spectrum, and I’m thrilled by the support of our unscripted partners. The NYTVF provides buyers with a real opportunity to message specifically to a group of talented and out-of-the-box creators, yielding unique, fresh, and valuable concepts and relationships with tremendous potential,” said NYTVF Founder Terence Gray in a release.

A record 31 developent deals were awarded during the 2013 festival.
