Cable executive-search firm Carlsen Resources in Grand Junction, Colo., has elevated 10-year veteran Terri Thompson to executive vice president of search management and strategy.

CNN INTERNATIONAL

CNN International reported several changes to its senior executive editorial staff: Deborah Rayner was named senior vice president, international newsgathering, based in Atlanta; Ellana Lee was named senior vice president and managing editor, CNN International; Mike McCarthy was elevated to senior vice president and general manager, CNN International; and Tommy Evans was upped to vice president and London bureau chief.

Also, several staff members were promoted: Gill Penlington to director, London programming; Ryan Cooper to director, Atlanta programming; and Penny Manis to director, business programming, based in New York.

DISCOVERY

Discovery Communications has tapped Tom Cosgrove as the newly appointed general manager of Discovery Family Channel (formerly the Hub). He had been president of 3Net and 3Net Studios.

ENTERTAINMENT STUDIOS

JD Black has been named senior vice president, global digital marketing, at Entertainment Studios. He comes from Sony Pictures Interactive, where he was senior VP, marketing.

David Goodman has joined the Madison Square Garden Co. as president, productions and live entertainment. He comes from CBS, where he was president of Live Experiences.

NBCUNIVERSAL

Frances Berwick was named president, lifestyle networks, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, adding strategic oversight of E! and Esquire Network to her current duties at Bravo Media and Oxygen Media.

Also, Adam Stosky was named general manager of E! He will continue to serve as president of Esquire Network.

OXYGEN

Oxygen Media has upped Rod Aissa to executive vice president, original prog ramming and development. He had been senior VP.

SCRIPPS NETWORKS

Jim Dowdle was promoted to senior vice president, Midwest and Mid-Central Region ad sales at Scripps Networks Interactive’s Food Network and Cooking Channel, based in Chicago.

Also, Jonathan LaConti was upped to New Yorkbased senior vice president, Eastern Region ad sales for Travel Channel and Great American Country at SNI.

STARZ

C. Brett Marottoli was promoted to Englewood, Colo.- based vice president, program acquisitions at Starz, responsible for identifying and securing content from the major and independent fi lm studios, as well as for overseeing the film, documentary and series submission process.

Eddie Dalva was named executive vice president, content and programming enterprises, Viacom Entertainment and Music Groups. He had been senior VP, content.
