Judy James has joined Comcast as director of government affairs in the North Bay Area of California, responsible for the MSO’s local goverment-affairs and policy duties in the North Solano, Sonoma, Marin, Mendocino and Napa areas. She comes from Republic Services Inc., where she was a municipal relationship manager in California’s Sonoma and San Mateo counties.

Sara Helman was upped to vice president, development and production, and Caroline Perez to vice president, production and development at Destination America. Helman had been senior director, production and development; Perez was most recently director, production and development.

DISCOVERY

Discovery Communications has upped Sara Burns to vice president, programming, at Investigation Discovery and American Heroes channel. She had been programming director for ID.

FOX NETWORKS GROUP

Fox Networks Group has named group executive vice president, deputy general counsel Claudia Teran to the additional post of general counsel, Fox Sports. She adds responsibility for the Fox Sports broadcast division, Fox Sports 1, Fox Sports 2, Big Ten Network, Fox College Sports and the company’s 22 owned-and-operated regional sports networks, as well as their digital extensions.

Indian Land, S.C.-based family entertainment network INSP has upped Samantha “Sam” Adorno to vice president, digital marketing. She had been the network’s director, digital marketing.

NBCUNIVERSAL

NBCUniversal International Television has elevated Justin Che to the new post of managing director, International Television, Asia Pacific. He had been VP, corporate business development and strategic planning, based in Los Angeles.

Also, Rajiv Dawn advanced to senior vice president, sales liaison, Asia at NBCUniversal International Television, He had been VP, sales liaison.

ROVI

Kathy Weidman has joined Rovi as senior vice president and general manager, metadata. She comes from Moonbeam Partners Ltd., where she was an executive consultant.
