Journalist Ryan Smith has joined ESPN as a contributing host to Outside the Lines and E:60. Based in New York, he will continue in his current role with The Walt Disney Co. sibling ABC News.

Also, Sam Borden has joined ESPN as a writer and television contributor focusing on enterprise and investigative work related to international sports. He had been a sports correspondent for The New York Times.

New York-based independent media agency Crossmedia has tapped Greg Siano as managing director. He comes from IPG-owned ageency Tierney, where he was executive VP, director of media services.

CROWN MEDIAJane Gross was tapped as creative director, on-air promotion, at Crown Media Family Networks in Studio City, Calif., responsible for Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. She comes from Pivot, where she was creative director of creative services.

Waterloo, Ontario-based cloud-managed IP video firm Dejero has named Bruce Anderson as CEO. He comes from the global commodity producing and trading firm Glencore.

DISCOVERY
David Fisher has joined Discovery Networks International in London as vice president for digital ad sales and responsible for the company’s European Olympics efforts. He comes from Sky, where he was head of futures, responsible for the pay TV provider’s digital sales, strategy and programmatic teams.

IFC
Lauren Burack was upped to senior vice president, brand and consumer marketing at IFC, based in New York. She had been VP, consumer marketing.

LAYER3 TV
Gregg Grigaitis has joined Denver-based Layer3 TV as chief product officer, heading up planning and design of the nextgeneration cable service. He is former VP of product and advanced technology at Suddenlink Communications.

LUKEN
Luken Communications has named Art Lanham as senior vice president of sales and affiliate relations. He comes from WAAY-TV in Huntsville, Ala., where he was VP and GM.

NBC SPORTS
Walter Cade was promoted to senior vice president of sales at NBC Sports Regional Networks, based in New York. He had been vice president of ad sales and national sales manager at CSN Chicago.

TELEMUNDO
Richard Borjas was promoted to vice president, production, at Telemundo, based in Miami. He has served as executive producer on such network series as La Voz Kids and Suelta La Sopa.

WALTER PRESENTS
New York-based subscription video-on-demand service Walter Presents has added Jennifer Robertson as general manager. She comes from WE tv, where she was senior VP of digital and media development.

WEATHER CO.
Mark Risis has joined The Weather Co.’s advertising-sales organization as vice president of partnerships, based in New York. He comes from TiVo Research, where he was head of strategy and business development.
