3Com Drops Consumer Cable Modems Santa Clara, Calif.— 3Com Corp. said last Thursday it discontinued consumer sales of cable and digital subscriber line modems, amid shrinking margins. Shopping that business to other manufacturers is "not an option," a 3Com spokesman said. The company will continue to sell cable and DSL modems to businesses.
