Digital Piracy

Multichannel pay providers continue to grapple with peer-to-peer sharing and illegal downloading of content and an ever-evolving strategy to fight piracy continues. Several MSOs including Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Cablevision, Verizon Communications and AT&T U-verse have teamed with the Center For Copyright Information to alert consumers that the content they are accessing could be illegally downloaded. Hear how those programs are working and what operators are doing to expand and improve their anti-piracy policies.

  • Find out what other multichannel pay providers are doing to curb illegal peer-to-peer sharing and downloads and what you can do to curtail digital piracy.
  • Learn about the issues surrounding digital piracy and hear about some valuable lessons you need to learn about adapting and understanding how your customers are accessing content.
  • Tackling digital piracy requires a number of initiatives considered "carrots" as well as "sticks". What is working; what’s not; and how are the initiatives adapting to technological advancements and consumer habits?
