The device, called the ADT-2, supports Google Assistant and gives developers a way to kick the tires on the next-gen Android TV P operating system.

Android Police reported that the dongle for developers, called the ADT-2, contains the same chip as the Amazon Fire TV 4K dongle and packs 2 gigabytes of RAM and 8 GB of storage.

Developers can sign up for the limited edition device here.

In addition to serving as a platform for retail streaming devices and smart TVs, Android TV has increasingly become a focus for pay TV providers and for suppliers that have developed next-gen platforms tailored for MVPDs.
