Cable Television Laboratories Inc. certified 11 new cable modems and two
cable-modem-termination systems in the third wave of Data Over Cable Service
Interface Specification 1.1 certification.

CableLabs has now certified 21 DOCSIS 1.1 modems.
Arris and Riverstone Networks Inc. CMTS systems were certified in the latest
round of testing, bringing to four the number of DOCSIS 1.1 CMTS products
The DOCSIS 1.1 modems are all compatible with existing DOCSIS 1.0 equipment
and will work alongside current system configurations.
Additionally, seven cable modems from five companies -- Aastra Telecom Inc.,
ASUSTeK Computer Inc., Linksys Group Inc., Motorola Inc. and Thomson -- were
certified or recertified for DOCSIS 1.0 modems.
Separately, ADC Telecommunications Inc. said it's shipping 40 'Cuda 12000'
CMTS to four Cox Communications Inc. systems: northern Virginia, Greater
Oklahoma, Greater Kansas and Santa Barbara, Calif.
The Cuda 12000 is based on DOCSIS 1.1 standards.
Cox now has Cuda equipment in nine markets.
