20th Century Fox is ramping up its sponsorship of Turner Network Television’s upcoming original movie, Evel Knievel, and the live telecast of Robbie Knievel’s motorcycle jump on the U.S.S. Intrepid in New York.
The studio is using the association to promote the Aug. 13 release of its theatrical Alien vs. Predator.
Extending through July 30, the sponsorship includes both on- and off-air elements, including co-branded promotional tune-in spots, on-air advertising and online integration.
The tune-in spots, which began running July 19, intersperse footage from the feature, as well as the drama network’s telepic.
Additionally, the studio has secured signage aboard the Intrepid -- a former World War II ship now better known as the Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum -- where Robbie Knievel will attempt to jump various aircraft aboard the vessel.
That attempt will air July 31 at 8 p.m., the second night of a three-play weekend of the Knievel movie, starring George Eads, Jaime Pressly and Beau Bridges, which will air that night at 9 p.m. The film bows July 30 at 8 p.m. and completes its initial burst Aug. 1.
