2008 CABLE SHOW: Disney, ESPN Nets Revamp Affiliate Web Site

Disney and ESPN Media Networks want affiliates to get in the zone.

The networks are launching a new affiliate, business-to-business Web site that will provide affiliates with updated marketing, programming, ad sales, technical information and downloadable assets.The revamped Web site, according to DEMN officials, will serve as a one-stop shopping area proffering an array of data and services.

New features at “The Affiliate Zone include: tapeless delivery, through which affiliates can view and download monthly cross-channel spots, with the click of a mouse; programming grid, wherin users can find all pertinent programming data from one location; and grouped functionality as all assets are organized in an easy-to-navigate system.

“When redesigning this Web site, we carefully considered how we could make it easier for affiliates to drive their business,” said David Preschlack, executive vice president, affiliate sales and marketing, Disney and ESPN Media Networks, in a statement. “This redesign offers ease of use, provides quicker access to marketing materials and aggregates all DEMN information in one central location.”

The affiliate site’s re-launch is being supported by a “log in to win sweepstakes” that will give qualified users a chance to win a Flip Ultra Series Camera daily from May 18 through June 30.
