24 Creator Testing Two Fox News Pilots

Joel Surnow, co-creator and executive producer of Keifer Sutherland serial thriller 24, will test a pair of pilots with Fox News Channel in January.

The programming is said to be fun-based and entertainment-driven, reflective of the news of the day.

“Fox News Channel is always looking for new cutting-edge programming ideas, and we look forward to working with Joel Surnow on this opportunity,” Fox News senior vice president of programming Bill Shine said in a prepared statement.

The sixth season of Fox hit series 24 -- which often includes images of Fox News -- debuts with a four-hour premiere at 8 p.m. Jan. 14-15.
