More than 400 industry people attended the eighth annual Hispanic Television Summit, setting a new mark for the event.
Presented by Multichannel News and B&C, the Sept. 29 conference attracted executives from the ranks of the Hispanic distribution, content, marketing and research communities. That was up from 325 that attended the seventh Summit in 2009.
This year, executives convened to hear a quartet of keynote addresses from leaders at Levi & Strauss, Procter & Gamble, Telemundo Networks and Cox Communications, as well as five panels touching on array of subjects involving consumer behavior, advertising, marketing, content production and methods being deployed to garner subscribers. The event's mid-day highlight: World champion boxer and Golden Boy Promotions president Oscar De La Hoya was honored with a lifetime achievement award in Hispanic television.
