The INTX app, created by Core-Apps for the NCTA, is thoughtfully designed, anticipating convention-goers' needs and resolving them. Packed with features, from givens like integrated social media and location-based show-floor navigation to small details like the ability to jot down notes directly on the booth map, it can help you maximize your time, increase your visibility and accomplish your goals in Chicago.
The app is available for iOS, Android and Windows devices; a Web-based version is also available. Here are some tips for using the app to manage your show experience.
Maximize Your Time
1-Allow the tutorials to run. The first time you click on a feature, the app displays brief, well written instructions with tips for using each element. Because the app is so packed with features, it's worth taking 20 seconds to pay attention.
2-Find your way around the show floor effortlessly without retracing your steps a million times. The interactive map uses location-based services to show you where you are relative to your destination and help you determine the most efficient way to cram 10 booth visits into 20 minutes.
3-Automatically set up a schedule. Bookmarking an event or a speaker automatically adds the item to your schedule, which is displayed atop the Dashboard. When you favorite two items in the same time-slot, the app pre-emptively warns you of the conflict before scheduling the second item. The app also sends real-time scheduling alerts.
Increase Your Visibility
4-Set up a public profile and "friend" others who have to connect with new contacts and existing colleagues. In one of the app's many thoughtful features, it doesn't spam your email contacts with friend requests, enabling you to pick-and-choose instead.
5-Follow the #INTX2015 conversation on Twitter and Instagram from a single feed -- and add your two cents' worth -- without leaving the app.
Accomplish Your Goals
6-With multiple ways to browse and explore exhibitors, speakers and attendees, you won't miss a single product, panel or person you want to see. Find exhibitors by location, category or name; browse sessions and events by day or by track; and search for speakers and attendees by name. Favorite exhibitors to add them to a Quick List that will help you get to each one efficiently.
7-Leave yourself booth reminders on the interactive map. Not only can you flag the exhibitors you want to see, you can jot down questions to ask or anything else you want to remember. You can also email all your notes to yourself and/or colleagues from your profile settings.
