ABC Cable, Ops Try ‘Learning Together!’

ABC Cable Networks Group has signed up eight affiliate partners for its 2004 educational-outreach initiative, "Learning Together!."

The umbrella program pairs community, familial learning endeavors with talent from Toon Disney, SoapNet, Disney Channel and the latter’s Playhouse Disney programming block.

Systems on board thus far: Comcast Corp. (Chicago); Insight Communications Co. Inc. (Champaign, Ill.); Mediacom Communications Corp. (Des Moines and Quad Cities, Iowa); Time Warner Cable (Houston); Bright House Networks (Orlando, Fla.); Cox Communications Inc. (New Orleans); and Adelphia Communications Corp. (Los Angeles).

ABC Cable senior vice president of affiliate marketing and ad sales Todd Schoen said the group is looking to add more tier-one affiliate partners, and it is introducing a turnkey version of Learning Together! -- which is now in its second year -- for other affiliates.
