ABC Family Set to Add Gilmore, Smallville

With six-hour marathons serving as a lead-in the weekend before, ABC Family will begin stripping acquired series Gilmore Girls and Smallville Oct. 4.

The network will air Gilmore Girls weeknights from 5 p.m.-6 p.m. and Smallville from 7 p.m.-8 p.m. Each series will begin in sequence.

The WB Television Network duo will receive some promotional punch in the way of six-hour marathons: Select Smallville installments are slated from 2 p.m.-8 p.m. Oct. 2, while Gilmore comes out of the gate the next day during the same time period.

“We are very excited to add these high-quality family series to our lineup,” ABC Family president Paul Lee said in a prepared statement. “Fans can catch up on their favorite episodes, and new viewers will quickly become fans of Clark Kent and the Gilmores.”
