ABC Family Sets Fever , Knot


ABC Family's new version of Dance Fever launches with a two-hour
premiere Sunday, July 13, from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. (EST/PST).

The original Dance Fever was created by Merv Griffin.

In the ABC Family show, 48 dancers or dance teams will travel to Las Vegas
and vie for a $100,000 grand prize.

Eric Nies (MTV: Music Television's The Real World and The
) will host Dance Fever. The judges are Carmen Electra
(Baywatch), Grammy Award-winning artist MC Hammer and renowned
director/choreographer Jamie King, who has worked with Madonna, Britney Spears
and Ricky Martin.

Following the two-hour opening special, Dance Fever will be a one-hour
Sunday show, airing at 7 p.m.

The network is also preparing a six-episode special series on the wedding of
Melissa Joan Hart, star of The WB Television Network's Sabrina the Teenage

Tying the Knot: The Wedding of Melissa Joan Hart will air over seven
consecutive evenings on beginning Sunday, July 27, from 9 p.m.-9:30 p.m.

The network has exclusive access to the planning process and wedding of Hart
and Mark Wilkerson, frontman and guitarist for hard-rock trio Course of Nature,
who were engaged over the Christmas holidays.
