ABC Family's new drama series Pretty Little Liars generated some pretty big audience returns in its June 8 debut.
The series, which follows four former friends reunited a year after the mysterious disappearance of their friend, averaged 2.47 million viewers, according to ABC Family officials.
More importantly for the network, Pretty Little Liars drew record audiences for an ABC Family series premiere episode among the network's key 18-34 and 12-34 viewers, as well as for Teens and Female Teens aged 12 to 17. In fact, Liars outdrew the finale of Fox's musical series Glee among Female Teen viewers (853,000 versus 697,000).
The Pretty Little Liars premiere also finished second behind the premiere of the network's most watched series, The Secret Life of the American Teenager in key 18-49 demo, the network said.
