ABC Family Splits Sales Teams

ABC Family and ABC Cable Networks Group announced Tuesday that they are
reorganizing their ad-sales operation into two dedicated sales units -- one
focused on adult primetime programming and early-fringe teen fare and the second
on children's programming.

ABC Family executive vice president of sales Laura Nathanson will oversee the
adult/teen programming platforms, while Kerry Sheldon Hughes will oversee the
children's programming.

Hughes, previously a senior account executive at UPN, has been named senior
VP of kids' ad sales and marketing. She will be responsible for ABC Kids (ABC's
Saturday-morning block), Toon Disney, ABC Family's daily kids' action/adventure
block and presenting-sponsorship opportunities on Disney Channel.

Barbara Bekkedahl, who was senior VP of ad sales for Fox Family Channel and
for ABC Family for a time after the transition, left last year, an ABC Cable
spokeswoman said.
