WOW CEO Colleen Abdoulah was appointed to the board of directors of the American Cable Association for a two-year term last week during the ACA’s quarterly meeting in Tucson, Ariz.
Kirby Campbell, vice-chairman of the Armstrong Group, and Martin Brophy, president of Shen-Heights TV Associates, were also re-elected to the executive committee of the ACA for one-year terms on the six-member board.
“We could not be more proud or more excited to add Colleen Abdoulah to our board,” ACA CEO Matthew Polka said in a statement.
Abdoulah will serve out the remaining two years of WOW COO Steven Cochran’s term. Cochran, who had been ACA’s chief financial officer, added the chief operating officer duties last month.
“Steve Cochran has been truly selfless in his service to ACA, and we thank him,” Polka added.
“As we approach the end of another successful year for the ACA in which the FCC adopted an exemption from the digital must carry obligations for small cable operators, among other achievements, we’re pleased to retain the services of Kirby Campbell and Martin Brophy on our executive committee.” Polka also said.
Campbell and Brophy join Steve Friedman, chairman of Wave Broadband; Jim Bruder, vice chairman of Harron Communications; Dave Baum, treasurer of JetBroadband, and Patrick Knorr, ex officio chairman at Sunflower Broadband.
