The Association of Cable Communicators has named the finalists for 2012 Beacon Awards. A release with a list of the finalists is at this link.
The winners will be announced during the Beacon Awards Luncheon and Ceremony on Thursday, Sept. 13, at the Hilton New York concluding ACC's annual conference Forum 2012: Communicator.2012 The Critical Skills for Today.
"Cable communicators make vital contributions to the bottom line of their companies and industry by telling cable's story, building constructive relationships with stakeholders, promoting products and services, and improving the quality of life for the customers and the communities they serve," Pete Abel, 2012 Beacon Awards chair and senior vice president, corporate communications, Suddenlink Communications, said in the release. "The Beacon Awards recognize the best of this work."
Forty-eight ACC members, cable communications and public affairs professionals, chose the 2012 Beacon Award finalists during an extensive, two-phase judging process. The increase in the number of Beacon Award entries submitted this year demonstrates the cable industry's commitment to communications and public affairs representing initiatives implemented over the past year in areas such as community relations, events and observances, and social media communications, the group said.
