UP network has acquired the rights to prior seasons of daytime talk show series Steve Harvey, the network announced Tuesday.
UP will debut the first season of the NBCUniversal Television & New Media Distribution-distributed show on Jan. 4 with a marathon before settling into its regular weeknight time slot on Monday, January 6, the network said.
UP’s Steve Harvey acquisition also includes exclusive cable rights to both seasons of the ongoing series. The network will have access to the show’s sophomore campaign once that season ends in 2014.
“The acquisition of ‘Steve Harvey’ brings a fresh, relevant and widely popular series to the network,” said Leslie Glenn Chesloff, UP’s executive vice president, programming in a statement. “Steve Harvey is a phenomenal and uplifting brand that aligns perfectly with our network’s mission.”
