The latest in a series of public-awareness ads about pancreatic cancer features Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston, joining other recognizable figures participating in the Cablevision-backed curePC campaign.
The spot with Cranston, whose Emmy-winning series is on Cablevision-owned AMC, emphasizes that that no drama comes close to the stark reality of pancreatic cancer - with a just a 4% percent survival rate, it's the most lethal cancer.
Other news spots feature New York Knicks Coach Mike D'Antoni, New York Rangers alternate captain Scott Gomez and News 12 anchors Jodi Applegate and Colleen McVey, all of them coming from within the Cablevision family.
Actors William Hurt and Matthew Modine and former President Jimmy Carter were recruited for PSAs already airing. The new PSA series includes four 30-second spots and corresponding print ads that will run over the course of 2009.
The spots will air throughout the New York area on Cablevision's cable system and at Cablevision's Clearview Cinemas, as well as on Cablevision's national networks, AMC and WE tv. Print ads will appear in Cablevision's print assets, including Newsday, AM New York and team publications. The PSA with Bryan Cranston began airing this month.
