New York -- ACTV Inc. said it has acquired CatchTV,
including that company's patented technology enabling TV viewers to
"bookmark" Internet information related to a television program or commercial.
ACTV plans to incorporate the technology into its
"HyperTV" software, which enables the delivery of Internet Web sites
simultaneously with related television programming.
Viewers using CatchTV's bookmarking feature can save
Web-page addresses related to the TV program they are watching for viewing at any time.
ACTV said this capability could enable programmers and
advertisers to extend their brands to the Web without necessarily pulling viewers away
from TV programming.
