Jeff Lucas has become USA Networks Inc.'s latest president of ad sales, USA
Entertainment announced Wednesday.
Lucas, who had been NBC's vice president of Olympic Games sales and
marketing, replaces Jon Spaet, who has resigned. Spaet came aboard in March 2001
when he succeeded the departing Richard Sheingold.
Spaet and Sheingold each had come in over USA sales veteran John Silvestri,
who quit as executive vice president of ad sales last fall.
The changing of the ad-sales guard at some cable networks accelerated in
December. Since then, two A&E Television Networks sales executives have left
-- executive VP of sales and marketing Ron Schneier and VP of national sales
Manos became president of national-network ad sales at Rainbow Advertising
Sales Corp. replacing Chris Kager, who had left last fall.
And Gig Barton left Courtroom Television Network in December as executive VP
of ad sales, replaced by Charlie Collier, who previously was senior VP of
sponsorship at Oxygen Media.
