ADB Takes IPTV to Sea

Advanced Digital Broadcast (ADB), a supplier of digital TV systems and software solutions for interactive television, announced that it has been selected to supply IPTV set-top boxes to SeaMobile, a supplier to the at-sea/remote location communications and entertainment services industry.

SeaMobile expects to use ADB’s WAV-2500W units to deploy interactive digital video services on its customers' cruise ships.

“It is the first time that ADB has been involved in supplying an off-land application in the entertainment and services industry," ADB vice president of worldwide sales and marketing Jim Lomax said, in a statement. "We believe that our set-top boxes will enable SeaMobile to provide its customers with market-leading and state-of-the-art digital entertainment."

SeaMobile provides VSAT satellite communication systems and other services for 350 ships worldwide. The company's recently formed Wave Entertainment Network division to provide video services to cruise lines.

In North America, Switzerland-based ADB said it has supplied IPTV products to more than 90 independent operating companies.
