ADC Shuffles Exec Deck, Business Units

Following recent streamlining maneuvers that will result in pink slips for
between 6,000 and 7,000 workers, broadband-equipment vendor ADC
Telecommunications Inc. has launched a reorganization of its top staff and
business units 'to better align the company to meet its strategic, operational
and financial objectives.'

To that end, ADC has created an office of the chairman comprised of recently
appointed chairman and CEO Rick Roscitt, president and chief operating officer
Lynn Davis and chief financial officer Bob Switz.

On the business-unit front, ADC has formed a broadband-infrastructure and
access division, which merged its former broadband-connectivity and
broadband-access and transports groups. That combined unit will handle ADC's
digital-subscriber-line, Internet-protocol cable, optics and connectivity
functions.

ADC's separate integration-solutions unit will continue to focus on software
and systems integration, the company said.
