Spanish-language customers in Adelphia Communications Corp.’s Southern California cluster may now request cable bills in their preferred language.
Customers of the Los Angeles city franchises of Eagle Rock; East San Fernando Valley/South Central; Santa Monica; and South Gate will be the first who may opt in for the Spanish-language bill. The option will be rolled out to the rest of the region in the coming months.
The on-screen TV guide can also be converted to Spanish.
The in-language information will include details on how to reach the system, itemized billing and details on current promotions.
The option will help the operator communicate with a market segment with huge potential, as greater Los Angeles is the largest Spanish-speaking U.S. community. Adelphia already offers a low-cost Hispanic tier, Espanol Basico, and a large Hispanic-targeted digital tier.
