Adelphia Sets 'Toys for Tots' Push

Adelphia Communications' ad-sales arm, Adelphia Media Services, and the U.S. Marine Corps last week began a "Toys for Tots" drive for underprivileged kids in Southern California.

Adelphia will donate toys in participating clients' names and create drop-off boxes clients can place in their stores or at other business sites, for no charge. In exchange, the participating companies will receive free mentions in 250 promotional spots advertising the drive, said Western region vice president Mike Wilczynski.

To get the drive off to a strong start, Fox Family Channel and Nickelodeon have agreed to donate an unspecified number of toys, he said.
