Adelphia Media Services announced Monday that it has begun running a new spot
in its local markets that urges its subscribers to patronize local businesses
for their holiday shopping.
Targeting its 5.4 million subscribers across 25 states, the commercial will
run until early January.
The spot -- produced in association with Pittsburgh-based Ryno Productions --
shows a woman in a holiday setting as she recalls that one year ago, she
shopped via the Internet and catalogs. But, she observes, that just didn't feel
the same as shopping in real stores.
The commercial closes with the tag line, 'Brought to you by Adelphia Media
Services and your chamber of commerce.'
'We wanted to show our commitment to our local advertisers and to the
communities we serve by promoting local shopping,' Adelphia Media Services vice
