Adelphia Communications Corp. signed a five-year video-on-demand content,
distribution and management deal with TVN Entertainment Corp. Friday.

The pact gives a significant boost to TVN, which delivers pay-per-view
services to the C-band market and some cable systems.

TVN will negotiate deals with Hollywood studios and other content suppliers,
and it will handle asset-management and transport duties for Adelphia, which, in
turn, will make an equity investment in TVN.

Over the past two years, TVN has built a VOD satellite-delivery system,
which includes a digital network-operations center in which content is encoded
and preprocessed for transport through TVN's 'Secure Satellite Transmission
System.'

TVN said its 'Affiliate Remote Interface' will allow Adelphia to view assets
anywhere in the system, allowing for changing content on a system-by-system
basis, regardless of what server, set-top or middleware Adelphia
uses.
