Bright House Networks is the new name for the Time Warner Cable systems that
are now controlled by Advance/Newhouse Communications in Florida; Birmingham,
Ala.; Indianapolis; Detroit; and Bakersfield, Calif.
The new moniker was selected from such nontraditional cable-company names as
Plumline and Vybrant Networks.
A spokeswoman for the company's Tampa Bay, Fla., division said the name --
officially announced to employees there Friday -- will begin to surface on
trucks later this month and appear on bills in April.
