A&E Network will air Martha Stewart: Recipe for Ruin, A Bill Kurtis
Special Report, on how Martha Stewart transformed a small-time catering
business into a multimillion-dollar media empire, then saw that empire come
apart at the seams with a federal investigation into charges of insider
Now Stewart must defend herself against a five-count indictment for, among
other things, securities fraud, obstruction of justice and conspiracy.
The hour includes commentary from Christopher Byron, author of Martha,
Inc., and provides insight into her motives and methods from her brother,
Frank Kostyra, and close friends such as "socialite" Couri Hay (who introduced
her to ImClone Systems Inc. CEO Sam Waksal), noted ad man Jerry Della Femina and
staunch defender Richard Feigen, an art dealer.
Jeffrey Toobin of The New Yorker also participates. He was the only
journalist to talk with Stewart since the ImClone scandal broke, A&E
