Looking to drive more cross-platform sales, A&E Television Networks has
established a new integrated marketing department that will be headed by
industry veteran Bruce Thomas, executive vice president of sales and marketing
Ronald Schneier announced Monday.

The department will develop marketing partnerships with advertisers cutting
across A&E Networks' four networks -- A&E Network The History Channel,
Biography Channel and History Channel International -- as well as
Biography magazine and the company's Internet sites, affiliates-sales and
marketing disciplines and creative services.

Thomas -- a 25-year veteran and formerly an executive at Tele-Communications
Inc. and AT&T Media Services -- had most recently been serving as senior
vice president of sales for Internet-media-transaction facilitator OneMediaPlace
(now Mediapassage).

In his new post as vice president, integrated marketing, Thomas has oversight
of working with advertisers and their agencies to match the power of the
company's brands with client needs.

'Effectively reaching consumers with traditional methods is becoming more and
more challenging as consumers have a plethora of choices for their entertainment
and information,' Schneier said in a prepared statement. 'To meet these new
challenges, we are going to furnish our advertising clients with a wide range of
partnership opportunities. Experienced, talented and well-respected throughout
the industry, Bruce Thomas is the ideal person to lead this
effort.'
