A&E Network and Newsweek magazine are teaming up to tackle a
weighty subject: children's obesity.

Based on a Newsweek cover story, A&E's Investigative Reports:
Special Edition
will air 'Supersize Generation: Kids & Obesity' Oct. 30
at 10 p.m. Supersize is the first on-air manifestation of a programming
partnership between the companies.

Produced by Newsweek Productions, the one-hour show examines the serious
physical, medical and emotional damage caused by kids being overweight in a
culture engorged by fast food, dining out and eating on the run.

Investigative Reports host Bill Kurtis serves as an executive
producer.

An A&E spokeswoman said a second program, 'Beauty Under the Knife,' is in
the works. An airdate has not yet been set.
