A&E, Rainbow Feeling Festive


A&E Television Networksand Rainbow Media Holdings LLC will be the official network sponsors of the New York Television Festival (NYTVF).

The two programmers join TV Guide on the sponsor list for the NYTVF, set to launch Sept. 28 at the Soho House in New York.

The NYTVF is aimed at pioneering the movement of “independent television” and constructing a new path for program development.

“The New York Television Festival presents a wonderful opportunity for networks to discover talent that they would not ordinarily encounter,” AETN CEO Abbe Raven said in a prepared statement. “The artists on display at the NYTVF are untapped resources who could produce the next hit show that will attract the attention of the development executives on hand.”

NYTVF founder and executive director Terence Gray added, “We are very excited for the opportunity to partner with A&E Television Networks and Rainbow Media. Both are highly respected, New York-based companies that place a premium on television production in New York City.”

He continued, “The festival has encouraged the artists submitting to redefine genres and to elevate the bar by creating edgy and original pilots, and the programs broadcast by the cable networks of A&E and Rainbow reflect the innovative spirit that the New York Television Festival is looking to promote.”
